API Call Limits and Top-Ups

Your plan includes a monthly API call allowance. Understanding what counts as a call helps you manage consumption and avoid unexpected interruptions.

What counts as an API call

• AI model requests — every message your chatbot generates a response to
• Document embedding — when documents are processed and indexed after upload
• Knowledge base retrieval — each time the AI searches your knowledge base during a conversation

Monthly limits by plan

• FREE: 50 calls/month
• STARTER: 5,000 calls/month
• TEAM: 10,000 calls/month
• BUSINESS: 40,000 calls/month
• ENTERPRISE: Unlimited

Limits reset on your subscription renewal date each month.

What happens when you reach the limit

Your account stays active. You receive an in-app notification that you've reached your monthly API quota. Add top-up credits to continue AI responses without waiting for the next billing cycle, or wait until your allowance resets. Monitor usage as you approach 80% of your limit.

How to add top-up credits

If you need more calls mid-month without upgrading your plan:

1. Go to Dashboard → Billing → Add Credits
2. Purchase the credit amount you need
3. Credits are applied to your account instantly

Credits are consumed first before your plan's monthly allowance. Unused credits carry over to the next month — they do not expire at billing renewal.

When to upgrade vs. top up

Top-ups are good for occasional spikes. If you regularly need credits every month, upgrading your plan is more cost-effective. Use the Usage page to track your typical monthly volume and plan accordingly.
