How Smart Page Context Works

Give your AI awareness of which page a visitor is on — without any extra setup

Smart Page Context tells your AI which page a visitor is viewing when they open the chat. This lets the AI give more relevant help — for example, answering pricing questions when someone is on your Pricing page, or offering setup help when they're on your Documentation page.

Availability: BUSINESS, ENTERPRISE, and active 14-day trials. Not available on STARTER or TEAM.

How it works

Smart Page Context is built into the Chat Widget Script. When you enable it and copy the script, the page context code is already included — there is no second script, plugin, or SDK to install.

When a visitor opens the chat, VoxeDesk automatically captures the selected context fields and passes them to the AI so it can tailor its responses.

How to enable Smart Page Context

  1. Go to Dashboard → Integrations → Add Integration → Chat Widget Script
  2. Select your support chat
  3. Turn on the Smart Page Context toggle (visible on BUSINESS, ENTERPRISE, or active trial)
  4. Uncheck any context fields you do not want to include
  5. Click Copy Script
  6. Paste the updated script on your website and republish

After enabling, re-copy and re-publish the script. Context is refreshed each time a visitor loads the page or opens the chat.

Available context fields

All six fields are enabled by default. Uncheck any you want to exclude:

  • Page Title — the title of the current page
  • Current Page URL — the URL the visitor is viewing
  • Last Update Time — when the page context was last refreshed
  • Chat Start URL — the first page the visitor was on when they opened the chat
  • Referrer URL — the page that linked the visitor here
  • Page Type — a category inferred from the URL (Homepage, Pricing, Documentation, Dashboard, Integration, or General)

Privacy

Smart Page Context does not collect keystrokes, form data, passwords, payment information, mouse movements, or browsing history. It only captures the fields you leave enabled, and only when the chat widget is open.
